I love a good smoked whiskey and wanted to see if I could take the experience to another level. Instead of using a traditional smoker on top of the glass, I started working on a way to build the entire smoking system directly into the board.
I designed and built the board around an integrated fan-driven smoke system, with a glass cloche covering the drink and hidden channels directing the smoke where it needs to go. The board also incorporates custom engraving and removable components so the system can be serviced and customized.
This project involved a lot of experimenting, testing, and redesigning along the way. It became much more than a woodworking project—it brought together woodworking, laser engraving, airflow, and electronics into one finished piece.
Sometimes the projects I enjoy most start with a simple question: “Can I make this better?”
